Justin Constantine
Hi, I am Justin Constantine. I was shot in the head in Iraq in 2006, and I now share my story to help others be better leaders and overcome adversity.
Justin Constantine is an Inspirational Speaker, and over the last several years he has spoken at many corporate, educational and military events about leadership, the upside of change, teamwork and community values in overcoming adversity.
Justin Constantine volunteered for deployment to Iraq in 2006 as a Marine Corps officer. He served in the al-Anbar Province as a team leader of a group of Marines performaing Civil Affairs work while attached to an infantry battalion. While on a combat patrol, Justin was shot in the head by a sniper. Although the original prognosis was that he had been killed in action, Justin survived. Through teamwork and a positive mental attitude, he has had quite a successful recovery.
In 2011 Justin Constantine received the annual Courage Award from the Wounded Warrior Project, and the Commitment to Service Award from the Give An Hour Foundation in 2012. He has also received significant recognition from the White House, the Commonwealth of Virginia, the Washington Redskins and James Madison University. In 2012 the Virginia Legislature passed a resolution highlighting Justin's continued support of veterans and other wounded warriors. Justin now serves on the Board of Directors of the Wounded Warrior Project.
Recent corporate clients include Blackstone, Hilton, Lockheed Martin, Aon and Northwestern Mutual. Justin has also spoken at James Madison University, Middlebury College, Oklahoma State University and High Point University. Justin also is a Senior Advisor at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in connection with their Hiring Our Heroes campaign, and works with a number of corporations on their veteran hiring initiatives. He has also been featured in magazines and programs such as CNN, Fox News, NPR, Men’s Health, the Huffington Post, the Atlantic, Financial Times, and the Department of Labor’s America’s Heroes at Work Success Stories.
